This is my (Markus Gattol aka Suno Ano) website.
It is composed and driven exclusively by Open Source Software.
This website is seamlessly integrating into my daily working environment (GNU Emacs + DebianGNU/Linux)
which therefore means it becomes
a fully fledged and automatized publishing and communication platform. It will be under construction until 2012.

Abstract:
This page is intended to welcome visitors and provide them with notions about the purpose of this website and what they may expect to explore here.
This website is a moving target. As of now, it is used as a digital
platform to take notes, report and/or discuss certain things and
publish knowledge — a piece of technology used to mirror my thoughts
into the net and see what echos back from there.
What the visitor will come across in essence is a lot of tech stuff,
financial and/or business related information, how I live my life in
liberty and peace, the knowledge about knowledge, culture, motion
pictures, travelling, leisure and lots of stuff I do not even know by
myself right now. Enough said, feel free to walk around ...
Siteindex
My website consists of three parts — weblog, schedule and the wiki
part. Those who are interested in the weblog just click Weblog in the
menu to the left. Use the same magic if you are interested in my
schedule i.e. click My schedule in the menu at the left.
Below you got a siteindex of the wiki part. It lists all the pages on
my website/platform except for the weblog and schedule part — they
have their own, follow links above — in alphabetical order. Also,
please make sure you read at least this before you dive deeper into
this website in order do understand the information on my website.
Well, whereas the index above is great since it lists all pages on
this website/platform so folks can start from there and/or get an
overview it does not reflect certain connections among pages or even
dedicated sections onto some particular pages.
This section is used to inform about contexts i.e. several pages
and/or sections onto pages forming a semantically related context.
However, any page, section, subsection listed here can of course be
found in the above index ... it is just that this section might save a
lot of time and confusing for folks who just stepped in here ;-]
About Suno
This context lists a few things that I felt belong somehow here since
they are either about me as a person or those are things I spend time
on. In the simplest case, things listed here are stuff that I have an
interests/fond for.
How to name a host and what about the naming of users on a host?
Clearly, we need a naming scheme!
Installing, configuring and maintaining vsftpd, a professional FTP
(File Transfer Protocol) server.
SSH (Secure Shell) is a network protocol that allows data to be
exchanged using a secure (encrypted) channel between two computers.
SSH is typically used to log into a remote machine and execute
commands, but it also supports tunneling, forwarding arbitrary TCP
(Transmission Control Protocol) ports and X11 connections; it can
transfer files using the associated SFTP (SSH File Transfer
Protocol) or SCP (Secure Copy)protocols.
For short notes and my GNU Emacs cheat sheet click here ...
I use Gnus to do e-mail and news - it is the biggest GNU Emacs
package and thus deserves a dedicated page.
Another two packages that should go on a dedicated pages are
planner-mode respectively org-mode, my PIM (Personal Information
Manager) tools.
For the those interested in my .emacs file (note, that those are
automatically updated and transferred to this website whenever I
change them — thus you are looking at up-to-date data)
This context is about doing business in the 21st century, how to sense
profitable investments and how to manage. It is also about how to
proof expertise, social/ethical competence as well as unfaltering will
for steadily improvements of all sorts to others. Last but not least
it is about how to be happy with work, how to create win-win
situations for you, co-workers, superiors etc.
The main page about business on my website/platform.
What is the right type of company for me/us? How can I reduce costs
and increase revenue simply by picking the right type of company?
And last but not least, which jurisdiction is the one that suits me
best? Is one company enough or shall we found more than one — if
so shall they be placed in the same jurisdiction?
Finances ... no money —> no nothing ... plain and simple!
Into this, ... for technicians (like I am for example), I recommend
reading some basic literature about economics:

Reengineering the Corporation

After reading those books, every scientist/technician should be able
to follow business talks and at least grasp the basics when the
business breed happens to chat at the dinner table. However, as of now
I have not found an antidote I might use for the usual law chat ... I
usually end up grinning like a little fox ;-]
Mobility, Communication
This context covers mobility and what IT solutions to think about in
this regards. This context also covers communications e.g. email.
This context about software development and computer science. It is
not so much about administering and the like. If you are more
interested into system administration you might want to check out the
Debian and/or Security context on this page. Last but not least, the
Networking context might also be of interest ...
SSH (Secure Shell) is a network protocol that allows data to be

SSH is typically used to log into a remote machine and execute

(Transmission Control Protocol) ports and X11 connections; it can

This context is about virtualization. In computing, virtualization is
a broad term that refers to the abstraction of computer resources. One
useful definition is: A technique for hiding the physical
characteristics of computing resources from the way in which other
systems, applications, or end users interact with those resources.
This includes making a single physical resource (such as a server, an
operating system, an application, or storage device) appear to
function as multiple logical resources; or it can include making
multiple physical resources (such as storage devices or servers)
appear as a single logical resource.
Storage virtualization with LVM (Logical Volume Manager).
Networking
I became obvious I needed a networking context. This context is a view
onto several pages/sections/etc. on this website/platform which are
somehow related to networking i.e. computer networks.
IT solutions cannot go without the network and vice versa.
Apache and Friends
This is a context about the Apache webserver (probably the most-used
industry-class werbserver on the net today) and related software
within this domain that helps to serve data to the WWW (World Wide
Web).
Plone has so called Products which are add-ons, stacked atop a
generic Plone instance. Also, recently so-called Python eggs have
became very popular and may very well replace Zope products in the
long run.
Storage is an interesting as well as important subtopic with
Plone/Zope.
Plone User Accounts and Roles, who can do what at which point in
time and who is responsible for some particular task after all.
This context is about database management systems and related
information.
PostgreSQL, probably the best FLOSS (Free/Libre Open Source
Software) DBMS in existence.
CouchDB is a free and open source document-oriented database. It is
perfect for those who do web application development. CouchDB comes
with replication features built-in and therefore can do load
balancing, high availability and fault tolerance out of the box —
you can run it on an embedded device, a single computer, or a
cluster of thousands of nodes if need be. It can store huge
amounts of data, PB and more if need be.
