Abstract:

No money no nothing ... plain and simple! This page is about the technical foundation used by Plone/Zope web sites to get paid in various ways. Just to make that clear: The page is not about some random web shop or anything like this but really just about software for e.g. credit card processing and the like. Plone has add-ons (so-called Products) that enhance Plones functionality in terms of how to integrate an electronic payment system into any kind of web site e.g. a web shop selling computers or maybe the web site of a random musician, selling his songs (mp3s) -- customers can download them over the Internet to their computer respectively iPod. Another possibility is to for example sell premium memberships to a web site e.g. a stock ticker web site might offer a premium membership to an expert corner where one can get high-value, up-to-date market information.

Update: I now (May 2009) stopped working with/on Plone in favor of Dolmen simply because working with Plone is no fun anymore. Plone has become way to fat and confusing to work with over the years — I need something that works with me, not against me.
